I had a few bad chips also. I finally laid in a big supply of extra carts, chips, syringes, and an extra bottom fill adapter or two so I could set up an assembly line at refill time. This made things go faster but no more pleasant. What finally turned me off was the need to refill often because the carts for the R2400 are small. My Sundays went: drink coffee, read the paper, pp photos, print...oh wait can't print need to refill....sigh...Seems like I was refilling more than printing. It was a such a hassle that I found myself not printing as much...hmmm that is the opposite of what I wanted. I switched to an inkrepublic CIS system - wonderful decision! I bought an empty one and just used the MIS inks I had on hand. I've had other brands of CIS systems in the past but this one is an engineering marvel. No affiliation...but very happy customer. And their customer service is beyond good. Sorry to hear that MIS is having QC problems - I like those folks. If you print alot and your time is important, a CIS pays for itself very quickly. Linda
