I'm about to buy a new printer and am considering the R1800. In an ideal world I'd like to use the same printer for B&W and color. I've seen rave reviews of the R1800's color output, but have also read that it isn't great for B&W printing on matte paper. I've been using a low-end Canon for color printing (unsatisfactory) and an Epson r220 with MIS inks for B&W (great results, but I'd like bigger prints). I came here to do some research and saw a post about an approach designed by Paul Roark which would allow me to use the R1800 for B&@ and color without swapping inks. This would be fantastic. Could someone explain the approach and/or point me to where I can learn more about it? Thanks.
