RE: [Digital BW] curves settings having no effect on tone

2007-09-12 by Paul Roark

Hi Arlene,

I haven't been able to think too much about this, but be sure and follow
http://www.paulroark.com/BW-Info/UT7-7600-Readme.htm

You are going through a gray scale step before converting to RGB and
applying the curve, I hope. Just be sure all the original color is removed
from the file.

Be sure the carts are loaded correctly. Use a purge pattern and compare the
print to the ink positions in the Readme file above.

Subject: [Digital BW] curves settings having no effect on tone

My 7600 has just come back from repair and the nozzle checks are now
perfect. I re-installed Paul Roark's curves for EEM and HPR, but no
matter the setting, the prints come out cold. (PS CS2). Under color
settings I set as follows: Where am I off?
SETTINGS: Custom
RGB: Adobe RGB 1998
CMYK: U.S. Web coated swop 2
Gray: Gray Gamma 2
Spot: Dot Gain 20%

COLOR MAHANGEMNET POLICIES
RGB Off
CMYK Off
Gray: Off

CONVERSION OPTIONS
Engine: Adobe Ace v
Intent: Relative Colormetric v

ADVANCED CONTROLS
Desaturate Monitor colors by: 20%
Blend RGB colors using gamma: 1.00

COLOR MANAGEMENT: OFF

ASSIGN PROFILE
? O Don't color manage
? O Working profile RGB (1998)
O Profile Adobe RGB 1998 checked

Many thanks for help,
Arlene
