I wouldn¹t decrease the monitor luminance. Your issue likely lies in your
printing workflow.

Subject: [Digital BW] trouble with dark prints on a 3800
Hi All,
My b/w and color prints are all about 3/4 stop to dark when printed.
Since I'm new to printing, is this a situation I'd make a custom curve
to apply before printing? Or could I decrease my monitor's brightness.
It is calabrated and I could simply set a new luminance target that's
lower than my current 115.
What do you think?
Dan
