Many people don't realize that the total market for the Fine Art Inkjet paper is less that $20 Million. Could be a bit more but I doubt it. Regardless of the size there are far too many players for any of them to have the economies of scale that they need to truely drive the cost down. Same thing happened with Silver Gelatin paper. In any event I am comfortable with the prices for these GREAT papers and the large variety that is out there.
