RE: [Digital BW] Banding at start and finish of QTR printing with MIS 3MK on R800

2007-10-30 by Paul Roark

I noted in my write-up of the R1800 3-MK approach that I'd had some problems
with the edges of particularly thick papers. See
http://www.paulroark.com/BW-Info/R1800-Image-Structure.pdf So, for example,
I usually print 9 x 7 images on letter size paper. I think it's a paper
transport issue.

Subject: [Digital BW] Banding at start and finish of QTR printing with MIS
3MK on R800

Got MIS Eboni ink carts for my R800, figured out how to make a profile
with my EyeOne and was printing up a storm with scans from my 6x7 and
35mm days. tonight my prints are showing bands at the beginning and
end of each print, Since this never happened before, using gloss
paper almost entirely, my guess is that matte paper leaves some dust
or particles on the platen(s) and that this is released when the paper
is initialy grabbed to feed and at the end when it is to be ejected
from the printer. Any advice as to how I can back to the pleasures of
all black printing?
Thanks in advance for any advice.
John
