Please excuse me if this is too general a question. I have been asked to print up a portfolio to show. My main printer is an Epson R1800. I am experimenting with the Piezo SplitTone inkset. The tonal range is good, however, in images with detail in shadow areas, some of that detail is missing in the final prints. The results are helped by adjusting the output levels in Photoshop, but some detail still is missing. Images without much detail in the shadows print just as accurate as in silver gelatin printing. Within the next few weeks, I need to select an inkset to print--or go back to the darkroom. With CIS being thrust upon us, the expenses are higher, so I need to make a good choice. I've also seen the recommendation by Paul Roark for using three MIS Eboni inks in the 1800. Has anyone had enough experience with the 1800 to make a good comparison? Or perhaps one of the other Piezo inksets would give better results? Thanks very much. Marshall
