Maintenance tank bypass

Hallo

I have read in a message dated 7. Aug 2007 written by Mark Savoia
about him having a bypass for the maintenance tank. I have a 4800 and
would like to do the same. Could anybody point me to the correct
procedure or tell me how one goes about it?
