Hello Julio, >Anyone out there with experience of printing B&W with the 2400 and an >Imageprint RIP? Any improvement from the the 2200 with the same RIP? It may be that nobody has replied to this because nobody is using IP with a 2400. The 2400 is popular mainly for two reasons: the K3 inks and it's ABW driver which is essentially a simple built in RIP. The only advantage of using a 3rd party RIP would be to use K3 inks without the Yellow (or perhaps some other sophisticated manipulations). I think there have been a few posts over the past couple of years from people doing that with QTR, but my impression is that most 2400 users are using ABW mode. I think any improvement in a 2400 over a 2200 with IP would have to come from the K3 ink (3 blacks, less bronzing on glossy papers, less metamerism, better fade resistance). If someone were to use 3rd party inks and a 3rd party RIP there would be no advantage to a 2400. Might as well pay less and use an 1800. I hope this helps.
