Thanks Walt - some interesting comparisons from you. I have a few more of these new papers too and find it quite difficult to decide between them! Some of the surfaces are a little too intrusive for small prints but are superb for large prints - such as Silver Rag. Some, like Innova FibaPrint Warmtone Gloss have a pronounced fine linear structure (across the roll) to the surface which is very visible (and not nice up close) when printed - and scuff and mark easily. Innova's FibaPrint Semi-Matte is much nicer, smoother and more like (not the same as) the the Harman and Gold Silk. I have some prints on both the Harman FB Al and the Ilford Gold Fibre Silk and like both of them a lot, particularly as they are amongst the smoothest of the new papers. I struggled a little at first with wondering whether the Harman was too much like an old RC paper - then got over it. One thing I hadn't noticed until you referred to it is the way the image sits 'inside' the Harman paper but sits more on top of the others. One effect - as you mention - is that there is less gloss differential. These two papers are, for the time being, my papers of choice. I have a catalogue at home which says Harman are to bring out a FB Al Warmtone - but I've not seen anything of it yet. This would be of real interest to me as I do like my papers just on the warm side.
