What size negatives or slides do you need to scan? For 5x8 prints, I
would think that scanner would be plenty good enough. But if you ever
need to go bigger, you might need a higher resolution scanner,
especially if you have 35mm film.

1280 probably the best printer on the market right now under $10,000.
I've seen it listed for $437 at buycom. Get the Niagra Continuous Inking
system from

VM inks from MIS would be great for hextone black and white prints, and
either the MIS archival color inks or Media Street's Generations inks
would be excellent.

Got Money?  Photoshop 6.01 is the industry standard, and the new version
is great. I can't imagine using version 2.5! You just may be eligible
for an upgrade. ask before buying.
