The ICCs I make are all made with QTR's (Roy Harrington's) Create ICC 
or Create ICC-RGB.  They are recognized by Photoshop's and Elements' 
print preview, but usually not other programs that use ICCs.  I believe 
Roy has stated that they follow the parameters for grayscale ICCs, but 
I'm not an expert is such. I've assumed that many programs are looking 
for color ICCs and that is why these grayscale ICCs are often not 
considered "valid" by such programs.
