Now i have made my very first full carbon prints with MIS eboni (Black Only) on Brilliant Museum Satin Matte (this paper is like the hahnemhle photorag). The results of my printing are quiet nice but i get some broncing / different gloss effects in the black areas of the prints using the Eboni ink and the blacks could be deeper. Is broncing a typical problem of pure carbon printing on cotton matte papers? Is there any workaround for this? When i do BO printing with a cheap 3rd party dye ink i have no broncing effects at all and the blacks seems to be deeper. But i know these inks are not archival. Its interesting to me that the grainyness with the cheap ink is much more a matter than with the Eboni. Sometimes i want to have just the best from both sides. But it might be impossible and i still have to make compromises?
