I agree A,

I buy vinegar and ammonia, though. I soaked a head( on 3000 ) for a long, long time and did finally replaced it. When you get to that point, you can unload on some poor SOB on eBay, or try real chems like paint remover - what you got to loose.

It seems logical to me that over cleaning cycles can burn-out the heads and patience is called for.
