Digital BW, The Print

I just installed the new version of QTR after using the un-install 
program to clean out the older version.  Set everything up as before 
for my Epson R1800 3MK system.   Installed the profiles ofr the 1800-
3MK and went to run a califbration page but the printer icon pops open 
in my Dock (MAC) for several seconds then disappears, no print.  The 
printer never shows that it receives a signal from the computer.  Tried 
to print normally an image I had printed just the night before, same 
thing, icon for several seconds, disappears, and the printer sits there 
patiently waiting for me to tell it to do something.  Anyone havving 
tis problem with the new version (2.6) or have I missed something?
