Re: Epson 1280 Inkset for Warm Tone Prints

2008-04-02 by mbrouphy

Paul, Thanks again and I wanted to follow up with a note after my
inks arrived and I had a chance to load the cartridges and start
printing.

First, maybe it's just my fortune but I had none of the problems I've
read so much about when loading the cartridges or when starting some
test prints. The MIS instructions were right on and once installed I
had clean nozzle check prints in about 6-7 passes. Not bad
considering I had run the cartridges dry before receiving my UT2 set.

Second, since I purchased QTR I followed their process and setup to
prepare the QTRgui to print. I loaded some 8.5x11 matte heavyweight
and ran a print, with the full UT2 inkset in play, straight out the
gate of an image I had printed just the evening before using the old
inks. WOW! Worked right out of the gate and the print looked just
like I wanted, warm and just as I imagined.

The only problem I've experienced is trying to use your curves and
following the procedure for those to print the 21 step_black.tif
file. Any ideas?

Thanks, Mike
