Hi, I don't know if this is OT, but I've been blending images for ages (especially in night shots), using varying opacity on separate layers containing bracketed images and pasting from different exposures to fix blown out highlights or blocked up shadows - with success. But I just worked out another method of blending that I'm sure is used, but I haven't found it mentioned anywhere. Very easy - if you have two bracketed exposures, open the darker image. Then open the lighter image. Go to the channels palette and select load channel as selection. Invert the selection. Drag the inverted selection (which will contain a very detailed selection of levels 1-128) onto the darker image - the darker image will remain the background and the new 'layer 1' will contain the darker tones from the lighter image. So easy - very precise and quick. Richard -- http://smallfield.vze.com "A conservative is one who admires radicals centuries after they're dead." --Leo C. Rosten
