Digital BW, The Print

I would like to calibrate my monitor. I have a question that I hope can
be answered by one of the list experts.
I am considering the I One display 2 calibrator but cannot determine if
it will work for my set up. The X-rite site has lots of useful
information including instuctions on using the I1. There seems to be an
automatic mode and an advance mode on I1-2 model. Advance mode is more
accurate but looks like it requires manual monitor adjustments for
brightness and contrast.
I am running XP (home edition. My monitor is a Samsung SyncMaster 213T
and the video card is an ATI Radeon X1300. My monitor has no OSD
control except for brightness (push buttons on the bezel controlled)all
other adjustments are thru an ATI interface program. This cards color
adjustment is not in the usual place:
control panel>display>preferences>etc.etc
I am wondering if I will be able to do monitor calibration with this
set up.
I would appreciate any info, thanks in advance.
