Digital BW, The Print

Finally did it, and although it's only my first refill, it's working
well. I have an Epson R1800 and plan to follow Paul Roarke's 3MK
approach. I want to fill the color positions with the MIS cleaning
fluid as they empty and the MK, PK, and GLOP positions with Eboni. My
yellow cart ran out first and that's the one I filled. Haven't put the
Eboni carts in yet, am taking this one step at a time. There was a
very helpful thread here a while back and I printed out one message
from it - the thread was titled "First Experience using OEM cart
refill kit" but after several searches couldn't find it. Anyway, when
all was complete, the ink remaining utility showed the yellow cart at
full. Had to reset the chip, of course. Nozzle check was good, but of
course the yellow section was pale because it's mostly cleaning fluid.
That part of the test pattern is pale to begin with of course.



One question, as I proceed: When I filled the yellow cart, it took me
about 15 minutes. Do I need to worry about the head drying out while I
fill?
