Usually the cleaning cycle that is done as part of the ink changing will be enough when just switching between MK and PK. I know from switching from color to a grey, however, that there are trace amounts that will take a while to clean out, but I don't think they are enough when you're just dealing with 2 high load carbon inks to make a significant difference in actual printing.
