Definitely go with the 2400 if you have the money.

I would also like to vouch for the Epson 1400 13"x19" (Right now it's 
$199 after rebates at the Epson store and Staples....in fact I just 
bought my second 1400 yesterday and threw in a $40 off $300 coupon. I 
had to spend another $50 to use it so I got a 4gb compact flash and a 
2gb flash drive for about $10 more)

Add to that a good CIS bulk ink system. $50- $150 (I got a empty $50 
ebay one that's working great...but I did have to change the tubing 
routing differently)

And then a good B&W inkset. $100- $200 (I paid #100 for a set of six 
4oz)

There's $350 to $500 total.

I got the UT14 inkset from MIS (inksupply.com) developed by Paul Roarke 
here on the forums.

Astounding inkset/printer combo.
