OT - Fotos For Humanity, New Orleans requesting your help!

2008-08-09 by Daniel Smith

Hi fellow Photographers,

I live in New Orleans and have started a non-profit project here
called Fotos For Humanity. We have entered an online contest to win
$10,000 in funding, and we are very close to winning! But its a
popularity contest and we need to garner the most votes to win.

You can help us win this valuable funding. Here is how:

1) Go to www.ideablob.com and register. Its free and only takes a
minute. (You can skip the second page.)

2) Check your email for one from ideablob and click on the
confirmation link in their email... it will take you back to their
website.

3) Back at ideablob, click on "View Ideas" and look down the list
until you see Fotos For Humanity. Click on our name. Now you can vote
for us by clicking on the Thumbs-Up logo.

4) Send this to all your friends and ask them to vote too!

Dont forget your username & password for ideablob. If we become one of
the 8 finalists, you'll have to vote one more time the last week of
August for us to win!

Thank you, Thank you, thank you!!! I hope this is not an abuse of the
group - I'm not a spammer, just posting to the few groups I belong to.
Hopefully most of you will find this a worthwhile cause. We need to
harness the power of the internet to win this contest!

ABOUT FOTOS FOR HUMANITY: www.fotosforhumanity.blogspot.com

We provide "volunteer" photography services to other non-profits,
cultural groups, and community organizations such as health clinics,
social aid and pleasure clubs, even schools. We give them digital
copies of the photos and all usage rights for them to use for
fundraising, self promotion, website, whatever they see fit. We also
hold fundraisers and photo sales and donate most of the proceeds back
to the groups we work with. Most recently we have helped several Mardi
Gras Indian tribes purchase supplies for next year's costumes, and we
area about to start work on a book project for Project Greenlight New
Orleans ( www.greenlightneworleans.org ).

We have been very popular and want to expand - we need a website and
office space with room for a photo gallery & library, classes and
workshops. We also want to buy cheap cameras for kids to use.
