Thanks for the insights, Gar. Good point about BW film. Did that many years ago. I am hooked on the flexibility and economy of digital now. A highly regarded Nikonian instructor reported in a class I took that the new Nik plugin he beta tested does a very good job with grain simulation, so perhaps there is hope.
