Hi Jerry, You have misinterpeted my email, or I have mis-written it! Seriously, it isn't my aim to be selective. As you say, there is much free support available for all systems out there - but what in that post I was highlighting (or intending to highlight) was that there were indeed two parts to the Piezography system (software and ink) and two parts to the MIS offering (curves, or alternate workflows, and inks). My view is that Inkjetmall / Cone support all their system, MIS are 'just selling the ink' and I suspect that they do not help their users set up with the Roark or Woolf or whoever's workflows. That was my intended question! Am I wrong in thinking that? Hence me asking a 'sincere question' because if I am wrong, then I don't mind admitting it. To an extent it is irrelevent that there is free support out there... as there is free support for all systems. Indeed, defending myself for a moment - I was responding to Paul in that thread who asked 'How much support do inks need?' to which the answer was 'not alot - but that's not the only part of the equation'. And if there were any Lyson fans out there!? They wouild probably be saying "But what you don't say is that your system does not allow for bespoke ICC profiling" or whatever. I am amongst many Piezo users or fans have to say that what Paul Roark and others have done for quad-tone is amazing - especially given that he is not taking a cut - and I get frustrated 'on his behalf' the few times we see posts on this list that imply he his personally liable for his curves being available for particular printers / OS' or otherwise; as if _he_ had sold them the system or something promising the earth! So finally, is this a 'platform war'? Well, I personally don't think so. BUT it Is entirely natural that I should comment and report on the strengths of the system I use / sell. There are many on this list who will pull me up on a point where brevity excludes balance. Equally, I and some others are here to pull MIS / Roark fans up when by ommission they leave an implication that Piezo is lacking in an area! That is not a war... and as you know - we all have something positive to say about each other so 'we' are not at war ;) Take care, Nij > -----Original Message----- > From: meander@...
