Digital BW, The Print

Hi, I am very new to Black & White and inkjet printing in general.
Recently I bought an Epson 1400, and ordered the black cartridge from
the UT14 inkset to try my hands on BO printing. The ink came today, I
swapped out the OEM black cartridge for this UT14 Eboni cartridge and
fire up the Epson print test page. The black text turns out very faint
and yellowish. I then run a nozzle check and subsequently 3 cleaning
cycles. This did nothing to improve the faint and yellowish black
text. I am starting to wonder if I made a mistake in not getting the
full UT14 inkset. I am sure the experts on this forum can help me out
here, any advise on how I can get BO printing working will be
wonderful. Thanks.
