Next time I print color, I'll re-install the OEM Epson color carts 
and try again.

Maybe my printer is a newer model...? I've heard some mention of 
a "2008" model 1400. I don't know if there's anything to that or not.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
