Paul,

I don't know if UK Staples have the cleaning kit, but if the 1800 is
like the R2400 you don't need it. The r2400 has a clearly visible rubber
feed roller and this can be cleaned by holding a damp cloth folded a few
times to make a pad fairly lightly against it and then pressing the
paper feed button. A couple of times does the job.

I find this needs doing every few months whatever papers I've been
using, but perhaps that's just because my printer is in a normal dusty room.

Photorag may still need a little encouragement to load, as do several
other thick papers, just a gentle pressure on the sheet to help it start
to load. With papers that don't lie flat it often helps to bend the
paper back slightly to get it flat across the take-up slot. Generally I
find it more convenient to pre-load the paper before sending the print job.

Regards,

Peter Marshall
