Personally I prefer to receive the digest. I tend to preview the list of posts at the beginning of the digest, if there's nothing I'm interested in I'd just delete the digest. The last digest which prompted this replied had roughly 23 posts. Clicking through each email to see whether you should delete it or not takes much more time than seeing all of them at once in a single email, and the delete takes just one click.
