Totally Sponge-Free Carts for R1800, C86, etc.

2008-12-29 by Bob Marsolais

Paul Roark reported interaction between E-6 inks and the sponge in the
vent path of the R1800 refillable cartridges from MIS. I have
purchased refillable carts for the R1800 that have no sponge anywhere
in them, including the air vent path. I got them from
www.inkjetcarts.us. They come with self-resetting chips which can be
replaced with MIS chips if you prefer. A complete set of eight carts
with chips sells for $25.95. I have purchased two sets and found them
to be at least as reliable as MIS's carts.

These same carts with different chips can be used in the C84, C86 color
positions, and some of the Epson multifunction machines. The black
carts for the C84 and C86 are thicker and hold more ink. I am not sure
if they fit in the C88 since I never had one.
