Digital BW, The Print

I'm very new to this style of printing and need a little help. I'm not finding documentation 
related specifically to installation on my equipment. Can someone offer some advice???

I am having some very bad banding problems after installing the UT-14 ink-set from MIS on 
my Epson 1400 printer. Almost no ink is making it's way to the paper. I've gone thru the 
prescribed three cleaning cycles and printing the purge test pattern to no avail. Am I missing 
something??? Is there a procedure that I need to do that sets-up the printer properly???
