Digital BW, The Print

I am getting what look like fine scratches on my R1800 prints that rum 
in the direction of the printhead travel. They look to me like there 
might be some very light contact between printhead and paper. Most 
evident in the darker tones. Anyone encountered this  before and can 
offer a fix?
