I received samples of the new Premier Imaging Products "Generations Alise" fine art papers, both natural and bright white. Premier Imaging claims these deliver the "highest D-Max in the industry." See http://www.premierimagingproducts.com/ While I can't say whether this is true, on the 1400 with Eboni in the K position I'm seeing from the low 1.70s to 1.76 rather soon after printing. The 1.76 same day read is probably the highest I've seen. So, whether it's the highest in the industry or not, these papers have a dmax that is as good as any I've seen on matte papers. The papers have a very nice feel -- slightly more texture than their "smooth" papers. The Bright White is also more subdued, with a Lab B of about -1. The papers print slightly more warmly than the PA Smooth papers. I don't know what their pricing will be, but it looks to me like Premier Imaging has another very good product line. On the other hand, I still prefer their Smooth BW (dmax low to mid 1.60s) and 325 (dmax 1.69) due to their more neutral tones with Eboni. Paul www.PaulRoark.com
