I store prints in archival portfolio boxes. I put each print in an archival sleeve (Secol Polyester Pocket). The protection afforded the prints by these pockets is great, particularly guarding against marking or abrading the print surface. And clearly the pocket separates the printed side from the back side of the next print up in the stack. Does anyone know whether, in the absence of pockets or any other form of print separation, there is actually any known interaction between the printed surface of a print and the back of the next one in a stack? Im wondering whether I really need pockets for print storage? My current paper is Ilford Galerie Gold Fibre Silk with Epson K3 ink though my question is more general. I tried an archive search but couldnt locate an answer. Steve Gledhill <http://www.virtuallygrey.co.uk/> www.virtuallygrey.co.uk [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
