Digital BW, The Print

After over a year of misfeeds on my 2400, I have finally understood what's causing them. 
Not sure this will help you, but I'll tell you just in case (and perhaps this will help others -- 
I can't believe I wasted so much time and irritation figuring this out). 

The printer measures the forward edge of the sheet (that is, the edge that enters the 
printer first) to make sure the paper is not askew. If the side that is perpendicular to that 
(going round anticlockwise) is not perfectly aligned against the guide, the forward edge 
will not be parallel to the print head and the sheet will be rejected. What I hadn't realized 
was that if the paper is not cut perfectly square, then if the side is aligned, the forward 
edge will not be parallel. I cut larger sheets in half (for proof prints), and wasn't cutting 
them perfectly square. The solution was to rotate the sheet so that both the forward edge 
and the edge against the guide are edges that were cut by the manufacturer.
