After my Epson 1280 finally kicked the bucket from a fatal nozzle clog, I replaced it with a 1400 and the UT-14 inkset. So, I'm not a newbie to QTR, but for some reason I'm having a heck of time getting a print on glossy paper. Printing on EEM is not a problem - prints on matte look fine - but when I try to use any of the supplied profiles to print on glossy, my prints come out with a heavy bronzing effect, like the ink isn't compatible with the paper - which is what Paul Roark's documentation says. I need a curve that uses only the glossy-compatible inks. So, I suppose the next step is to try to build my own curves. The thing is, with my 1280, I was always able to get good prints using the bundled profiles. I'm using the "house" luster paper from Inkjetart.com (they say it's basically the same as the Epson stuff), so I find it hard to believe that none of the standard glossy profiles will get me at least into the ballpark of a good print, which leads me to believe that I'm doing something wrong. I guess what I'm really asking for is if anybody can suggest a set of starting configuration options for Photoshop+QTR on a Mac that will result in a halfway decent print on glossy. I used my 1280 for a couple years, so I'm really surprised that I'm having so much trouble. I'm missing something, I'm sure. Thanks in advance. [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
