I have used 3rd party inks since 2002 with no problems. Maybe there are a few out there that have the wrong surface tension, viscosity, etc, but 3rd generation Cone inks are pretty damn clog-free. I would say even less clogs than Epson K3 with the 4800s and way better than the old Ultrachrome in the 9600s. Both Color and Monochrome sets. Of course, when you run 10 30x40s a day for 3 years you see a lot of pressure problems, but I would say all of the 3rd party inks I've used have stacked up well against Ultrachrome.
