What Mr. Dillard complains about is the tonality, especially in the highlights. This I find to be a problem with the Epson driver and the K3 inks. I think he would get much better and smoother highlights using a better driver (StudioPrint, QTR) and at least quadtone inks but especially using K7s. That in my mind would be a "fair" comparison. Using color inks to make B&W prints has always been a lower quality solution, but a more flexible one if one refuses for whatever reasons to dedicate a printer to B&W. -- Bruce Watson
