Digital BW, The Print

Next door, over on the Epson9000 list, there are several posts 
today about *rumors* related to the new 8500. Interesting to note 
that several people have mentioned that it's a 7-color printer, 
which would contain at least one "grey" ink. I wonder if this could 
be combined with the black ink, for a "two color" printer, that 
would eliminate color crossover. Or, maybe this grey ink will be 
used for some of that UCR/GCR to address metamerism? 

Or, could this be a "duotone" printer, and a color printer in one?

They are saying that it'll be 24" wide, and will cost about $2500. If 
these rumors are true, those puppies will fly off the shelves.

I wonder if Epson normally announces stuff like this at PMA. I 
also wonder if they're already shipping in either Japan or the UK.
