Hi group, I'm hoping someone can give me a suggestion or 2 (or perhaps step by step instructions) for printing black & white on an Epson Stylus Photo 1400. The basic problem is the print comes out darker than the photo appears on the monitor. So shadow areas that have detail on my monitor go all black when printed. Let me first say I calibrate my Samsung T220 monitor with SpyderExpress. I use Epson paper - Premium Semi-Gloss, Ultra-Premium Presentation Matte and Ultra Premium Photo Luster. I want to try some others but I think I need to get this problem corrected on Epson paper first. I followed all the instructions for installing the printer. In the Print/Page Setup area I've tried virtually every combination available in Color Management, Printer Profiles, Rendering, etc. but I still feel like I'm missing something. If you're happy with your B&W prints from your Epson 1400, please post your settings or email them to me. All help is appreciated. Thank you! Kris Plainfield, IL
