Re:Flatbed Scanning 4x5

2002-02-14 by Sanders-Herring

I've had an Epson 2450 for a couple of weeks now
and so far I'm quite pleased with it. All I've
scanned so far are 2 1/4 and 4x5 B/W negs with
pretty good results. I haven't printed anything
larger than 8x, so I've yet to see how they hold
up at a larger size. I also haven't tried 35mm
yet either. But, so far so good, and you can't
beat it for the price. My next project is to see
if I can fool it into scanning my 5x7 negs.

flatbed or if it will really suffer using a
flatbed - ? I can spend a pretty
good whack on decent product, just nowhere in the
range of a 4x5
slidescanner unfortunately. Any suggestions?
Should I not consider scanning
at all if I have to go to a flatbed?

Cheers,
Neil
