I am certainly agitating with the OS manufacturers and other related  
companies to provide a high-bit videostream, so that software dimming  
will no longer cost levels and cause potential posterization. But at  
this time software dimming (beyond what the hardware controls can do)  
still has to work by losing levels, so the more you have to dim in  
software, the more levels you have lost. No magic, just a compromise...

Sorry, I can't provide dates for future features. Just wanted to note  
that its on our radar screen, since its becoming a more common issue...
