Our local fine arts gallery is having a photoshow for Arizona artists. Took my slides this morning so I can get them in on time next Friday. What I find interesting is the way catagories break down. Black & White - includes toning & hand coloring Color - Commercial lab acceptable Digital - Computer manipulated images Mixed Media - let your imagination go! "The pupose of this show is to explore the unlimited creativity that photography can produce. Works should include processes from the past such as silver and platinum printing, toning, etc...as well as exploring the new world of computer manipulation." In preparing for this I come to the quandry. Under what guise should I submit particular images? I've decided I'll do a couple under different 'catagories' & in deciding this I clarified for myself "Digitally produced" as a phrase I may need to use. For some of my images are in color, some straight scan/print/B&W with no more 'manipulation' than I would do to a silver print. A few ARE manipulations that the computer facilitated. ALL of the things I'm submitting will however be "digitally produced" inkjet prints BUT I could place them in "B&W" or "Color" depending on the image, not needing to restrict myself to the 'manipulated' aspect. Words for thought. Cleavis
