Hi all, I have never done any B&W printing on an inkjet before (all silver-based), but as I can no longer tolerate the heat in my darkroom in the summer (one of those "swell" aging things along with my eyesight), I have decided to at least give it a serious try. I have access to an Epson 2880 at present and will start with ABW, though I will have a "quick trigger" to move to QTR as my next step. My question is regarding paper, in particular, "practice" paper. I have a couple of sample packs from Altex, but I'm not keen on blowing through them before I have a clue as to what I am doing. Anyone have some suggestions for a matte/glossy paper that I can use to get a feel for the process without breaking the bank? Most of the work at first will be scanned 6x7 (Epson v750) with the occasional 4x5. I must say the activation barrier for trying this out has been much higher than I had anticipated! Thanks, JT
