I take it you have the UT-R2 inkset as discussed in

The Eboni black ink is matte black, for matte paper only.  You need "Photo black" for the glossy paper.

Always do a nozzle check before doing serious printing.  It sounds like you have some inks that are not firing.

Be sure you've removed the tabs that block the air intakes on the tops of the carts.  OEM carts don't have these, but third party carts require the air intakes to be opened up.

After you're sure the air intakes are clear, it may need to sit overnight for ink to flow down into the outlets.
