Digital BW, The Print

It's certainly my preferred B&W conversion method. The advantages are  
that it happens in concert with the Raw conversion adjustments, so  
it's optimal, and interactive with them while offering a large, color  
managed, preview; and it's part of my standard library and backup. It  
also has a pretty good toolset, with (as you note) filter emulation.  
The only cons would be loss of specific functions and tools from your  
favorite B&W conversion tool, whatever those might be. But it's not  
permanent, so you can go back and do it in another workflow if you  
feel you need to; but I can't recall the last time I did.
