Hi Glenn - I can't address how this will work or how you'll seal it onto the surfboard, but there's a product I bought at the photo show in NYC last year, from a company named InkAid. They call it Clear Semi-Gloss Precoat. It can be applied to rice and tissue papers (2 coats), to give you a leak proof surface and it stiffens the paper enough for it to travel through the printers without a problem. Six feet is pretty long- I've only seen 11X14 prints from it, but in theory, it seems like the product would do the job.
