I recently retired my 7500 for a 7800 and ran my C6 clear base through it first -- using the MIS empty carts that I later used for the B&W inks. I think you can just do a couple initial fills with the inks, but it'll be more costly. I also let the 7800 sit with the clear base for several days to be sure the color ink was off the sides of the tubes. The only issue I ran into was the need to replace the stuffing in the ink waste tank. (The MIS resetter resets that chip also.) > > If anyone can use a free 7500 ... I'll probably have a free 7500 available also. These are good machines for some inksets. The dilute carbon in the 7500 on Premier Art Smooth BW makes the most neutral print I've seen for a 100% carbon print. On coated papers (not Arches) the old 7500 can make some very nice prints. The main reason I upgraded was to be able to print more smoothly on Arches. For those who want to go to 24" paper and can't justify a newer printer, picking up a free 7500 is a seriously good option.
