Digital BW, The Print

Hi Lew,
I'm a bit new to this particular group myself. But your question is really a huge conversation that I doubt would really be covered properly in "a" book..  I think your in the right place however.. and probably another group or two on yahoo is appropriate also.. 
Anyway, the areas you'll be exploring are image capture (scanning) , getting the image worked up to print  followed by the print process. So maybe to get the ball rolling constructively maybe share what you have going so far in these area's ..  The other groups that may interest you are Epson wide format and Piezography..
As far as books go I think Amadou Diallo's "Mastering Digital Black and White". is great.. He also shows up on the groups occasionally..
The shift your making is a big one but a good one. Hopefully you enjoy it.
