Of course there is the gloss enhancer. If that does the job to keep
gloss differential and bronzing away then it may also allow the use of a
more thixotropic medium in the inks themselves to reduce bleeding on 
matte papers.
Which should be an aspect to take into account if a custom inkset is 
used on gloss and matt papers.
