I think someone about a year ago tried one of those types of printers with the MIS EZ inks and found it worked much like the C88. While the 1400 is usually what I recommend for people, if the 1100 is a larger version of the C88 and the "EZ" type of setup is suitable, such printers really are easy to maintain. Both of my daughters in college run C88s with CISs and "EZ" type of setups -- but actually either 13.5% Eboni or 20% MIS PK, mixed with the generic C6 type of base. With both, I just set them up for the year and they go all year long with no problems. I note that one could use HP PK diluted to 20% for the midtone and have neutral printing, on glossy if wanted. QTR does not support the 1100, so you'd have to use the Epson driver. For those who are just starting to get into inkjet printing, I think it is always safer to use a setup that has some support in terms of profiles and other users. Hope this helps.
